I have never been especially good at leaving ideas alone.

An interesting problem, a strange object, a new material, a sound, a sensor, a mechanism, a piece of software, a blank wall, an empty workbench—any of these can become a reason to start making something.

I do not think of art and engineering as separate worlds. A sculpture, a sensor system, a song, and a piece of software often begin the same way: with curiosity, a vague picture of something that does not exist yet, and the slightly unreasonable belief that I might be able to make it real.

Some of the things collected here were built to solve real problems. Some were made to explore an idea. Some were made simply because I wanted them in the world. When it makes sense, I share files, build details, and resources so other people can make, modify, or enjoy them too.

Grandiosity is boring, perfection is unlikely, and making things is more fun when you do not have to pretend every one of them is Important Work.

Still, every now and then, something turns out rather well.
